At Urban Student, supporting student wellbeing has always been a core part of who we are — and we’re proud to take that commitment one step further.
We’re pleased to share that our team has officially become Ambassadors of Hope, after completing specialist mental health training through the national mental health charity Chasing the Stigma.
This training is more than a badge. It’s a powerful step toward helping students feel seen, supported, and heard — especially during times that feel overwhelming or isolating.
What Does It Mean to Be an Ambassador of Hope?
As Ambassadors of Hope, we’ve been equipped with essential training that helps us:
- Spot signs that someone may be struggling
- Start supportive, stigma-free conversations around mental health
- Guide people to the right resources — including the Hub of Hope, the UK’s leading mental health support app
We’re now better prepared than ever to offer reassurance, empathy, and real pathways to help.
Why This Matters for Students
University life can be exciting, but it also comes with pressure — from academic demands to financial stress and social changes. We understand that it’s a new and confusing time and mental health challenges don’t always look the same for everyone.
By becoming Ambassadors of Hope, we want to make one thing clear to all our student tenants, that they never have to suffer in silence.
Whether it’s a quiet chat, practical guidance, or signposting professional help — we’re here, and we care.
About Chasing the Stigma
Our training was delivered by Chasing the Stigma, a UK charity with a powerful mission:
To reduce suicide, eradicate stigma, and ensure everyone can access the right mental health support when they need it most.
They’re also the creators of the Hub of Hope – a free, nationwide mental health app that connects people to local and national services quickly and discreetly.
📲 You can download it by finding it in the App Store and Google Play.
Let’s Keep Talking About Mental Health
Urban Student will continue working to create an open, stigma-free culture for our residents. We believe every student deserves to feel safe, supported, and hopeful — not just during Mental Health Awareness Week, but every day.
