Security & Safety

At Urban Student, your safety and security are our top priorities. We understand the importance of knowing your living environment is secure, so we make sure all necessary certificates on your tenant app COHO are always up to date and available for you to view. This provides you with peace of mind and visual confirmation that we’re keeping up with both compulsory and additional regulations—we set ourselves high standards!

• 24/7 CCTV: Your safety is our top priority. Our properties are equipped with CCTV cameras, so you can feel secure at all times.

• Safe Locations: We’ve hand-picked locations that are not only close to campus but are also in safe, thriving areas of the city, so you can explore Bristol with confidence.

Additionally, To ensure your safety, we carry out regular checks:

• Smoke vents and fire alarms are tested every 6 months.
• CCTV, gas boilers,
• mist sprinklers, door entry and intercom systems, PAT testing and emergency lights are all tested annually.
• We also complete a fire risk assessment and Legionella testing every 3 years, an electrical installation certificate every 5 years, and an EPC every 10 years.

Additionally, every week, our in-house team conducts fire alarm and emergency light tests in all communal areas to make sure there are no faults we’re unaware of.

We use mist sprinklers instead of water sprinklers to ensure your belongings stay safe in the unlikely event of an emergency. It’s these small details that make Urban Student stand out.

Most of our checks are carried out in-house or by trusted local providers, allowing us to address any issues quickly and efficiently, leaving no risks unattended for too long. We also pride ourselves on being flexible, working around your schedule to ensure that any necessary repairs or maintenance are done at a convenient time for you. All on your terms!
